Cafe Society- a series of poems written while drinking coffee

coffe drip

the tables are different today
balanced on three legs not four
but already scuffed
small only good for coffee not cakes
round curvy chairs
bent inflexible arms
superficially welcoming
battle ship grey matt dead

what happened to the wooden ones?
trees died for them now
on the scrap heap where?

but how much more had to die for plastic
tables
and
chairs?

scuff
